Chris Bush joined Boreham Wood in December 2022 from Bromley, bringing a wealth of National League experience and leadership to the heart of the defence. A product of Brentford’s Academy, Bush enjoyed spells with AFC Wimbledon, Gateshead, Hereford United, Welling United, Lincoln City, Chelmsford City and Ebbsfleet United before three successful seasons at Bromley, where he lifted the FA Trophy in 2022. He was also called up to the England C squad in 2024, captaining the non-league representative side against Wales.
A commanding and versatile defender, Bush has been a cornerstone of the Wood’s defence since arriving at Meadow Park. He helped Boreham Wood reach the National League play-offs during the 2022/23 season before playing a key role in the club’s immediate return to the National League in 2024/25, securing promotion via the National League South play-offs at the first time of asking. Bush was again instrumental during the 2025/26 campaign, helping the Wood win the National League Cup and reach the National League Promotion Final.
