Match preview: FC Halifax Town (H)

28 November 2025

Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side welcome FC Halifax Town to WD6 in front of the DAZN cameras as we look to end November on a high, kicking-off at 17:30.

Last season for the Shaymen

A regular in the Enterprise National League, Halifax finished in sixth place after a consistent campaign which saw them lock horns with eventual winners Oldham Athletic in the Play-Off Eliminator. A 4-0 win ensued for the Latics with the damage being done in the first 12 minutes thanks to strikes from Joe Garner, Mark Kitching and Mike Fondop.

One to watch

A young striker who is aiming to work his way up the leagues, David Kawa is looking to spearhead Halifax’s attack this term. Having been in the U21’s set-up at Peterborough United following a successful spell at Sevenoaks Town, the 21-year-old made a name for himself at Aveley last term where he netted 11 goals and racked up three assists as the Millers finished bottom of the league ahead of his move to West Yorkshire in the summer.

The Wood

We returned to winning ways in the league last time out with a convincing 3-0 victory at Gateshead with Zak Brunt on the scoresheet twice as well as a stunning debut goal for Regan Booty.

It was a memorable evening in Hertfordshire last time out as the Wood secured a dramatic 4-3 win over Leicester City U21 in the National League Cup to take a step closer to qualification for the knockout stages. Although we trailed the young Foxes 3-1, a second goal of the game from Lewis Richardson as well as strikes from Luke Norris and Jon Benton ensured we secured a vital three points.
