Wood President celebrates his 75th birthday!

On Saturday, Boreham Wood Football Club President, Peter Smith celebrated his 75th birthday. Amongst other things, he received an amazing, specially made “Wood Army” cake from his daughters Nicola and Vanessa, and on a beautiful spring afternoon with the sun shining, the team managed to give Peter a great day by beating Salisbury 3-0 to maintain our play-off push.

Chairman, Danny Hunter said: “All non-league clubs and Chairmen need a Peter Smith within their midst. The Viscount, as he is affectionately known, has served me for 26 years and this club for nearly 60 years. Peter was our club’s Press Secretary when my father Micky was manager back in the 1960’s and in my 26 years here he has been by my side as a guiding light, Match Secretary, Club Secretary and now as Club President.”

“As President, his advice is always sought whenever there are major decisions to be made, and on behalf of everyone connected with Boreham Wood Football Club, I would just like to wish our much-loved President a very happy 75th birthday.”
