Welcome back, Luke Norris!

24 July 2025

Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of experienced striker Luke Norris, who joins the Wood as a free agent following his departure from EFL League Two side Tranmere Rovers!

The 32-year-old forward brings a wealth of experience and a proven goalscoring pedigree across the Football League, having represented the likes of Gillingham, Swindon Town, Colchester United, and Stevenage. Norris is no stranger to Meadow Park, having enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Wood back in the 2012/13 season, in which he scored three goals in seven appearances as a young prospect from Brentford.

Norris began his career in the youth setups at Luton Town and Hitchin Town before earning a scholarship at Brentford, where he made his senior debut in 2011. He went on to enjoy productive loan spells at Northampton Town and Dagenham & Redbridge, scoring regularly in League Two before making a permanent move to Gillingham in 2014. Over the next nine years, he established himself as a consistent attacking threat in the EFL, reaching double figures in multiple campaigns and playing a key role in Stevenage’s promotion-winning 2022/23 season.

A physical and intelligent centre-forward, Norris offers hold-up play, experience, and natural finishing ability, now returning to Meadow Park and looking to make a big impact in black and white. With over 450 senior appearances to his name and more than 100 career goals, his arrival adds significant firepower and leadership to Luke Garrard’s side.

Luke Garrard commented, saying: “Luke brings a different profile to what we currently have within the frontline. You look at his goal scoring record at Stevenage, for us to get anywhere near and around that this year would be massive. Rushy and Junior are young with a lot of good strikers’ characteristics, I feel Luke will complement the pair of them. He comes here with a wealth of experience.”

We’re thrilled to welcome Luke back to Boreham Wood Football Club and look forward to watching him help lead the line at the Mangata Developments Stadium!
