SCOTT DOE

Boreham Wood Football Club are thrilled to announce the signing of experienced defender Scott Doe from Dagenham and Redbridge.

Doe at just 26, has amassed over 260 appearances for the Daggers during a six year spell and will join his fellow colleague Luke Howell at Meadow Park.

Doe started off at Weymouth when they were a Conference Premier club. Weymouth however soon ran into financial difficulties and this resulted in the FA giving Scott special dispensation to seek alternative employment.

Dagenham were keen to sign him but due to football league regulations, players couldn’t be signed outside the transfer window. As such Scott was signed by Kettering Town and immediately went to Dagenham on an emergency loan.

By the end of the 08/09 season though, he had signed a two and a half year deal with the East London side. That contract was subsequently extended and after spending 6 seasons in total at Dagenham, which included a play off final win and a promotion to league one. Scott has now joined ‘Wood’ as we look to push on and really establish ourselves in the new National league..

Speaking about his fifth summer signing, Ian Allinson said “Scott Doe is not only a fantastic footballer but he’s also a winner. I’ve spoken at length to people who know him and his signing will strengthen our squad. He is a leader, he is an organiser and he will be an asset to me both on and off the park. Again we’ve had to be very patient to get our man, the chairman has backed me once again and my squad is now coming along nicely. Our patience has been rewarded an we are ensuring there is competition for places in every department” Allinson concluded
