Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce that once again, we are going to make Brookside Boys Club our chosen charity for this year.
Chairman Danny Hunter said “Brookside is a great local club that’s very close to so many peoples heart. It’s run by Dick and Vera Clarke, who are people I’ve known for 45 years, who’s community spirit and service to Borehamwood over the last 50 years is simply incredible”.
The Wood Chairman went on to say “For over 50 years Dick and Vera have served the children of our town and so many of our towns adults went through that club. As such every penny we raise, can only help them to continue to improve things for this generation of local kids.. Having met up with Dick and Vera last week, we can now finalise our plans for a £2,000 cheque presentation. This will be made on the pitch to both them before our final home game at Meadow Park against Sutton United on Easter Monday”..
Hunter concluded “We hope everyone local who has used the club over the years, can come along and show there appreciation of such a wonderful local institution, such wonderful people and hopefully we can raise a bit more money for them on the day”..
