Boreham Wood football club are delighted to announce, that it will celebrate its 65th Anniversary at our end of season presentation evening locally at the Holiday Inn..

The Gala event will take place on Saturday, 27th April after the first team has hopefully returned triumphant from Havant and Waterlooville after the last scheduled game of the present season.

The club can boast a proud 65 year history and will celebrate the progress it’s made since 1948 in style. Our much loved President Bill O’Neill, who has overseen so many of the changes over the years, will of course be guest of honour, as we raise a glass to many absent friends who contributed to our journey.

Many local dignitaries, along with the players and management from both the past and present will all be in attendance and Supporters both old and new are also welcome but we respectfully remind everyone that space really is limited, with only 40 tickets still remaining.

Tickets are priced at £35 per person or £275 for a table of 10. The price includes a three course meal, a night of entertainment, dancing til late and a specially commissioned 65th anniversary DVD, that will be given to each and every guest.

The DVD charts the clubs history, its successes, the progress its made within the Community and of course its plans for the future.. The DVD will also include a wonderful pictorial trip down memory lane, with a legends section that is a true must see treat for all true WOOD fans.

People are reminded that a strict dress code will operate for this event and we hope that everyone who has been involved in the club both recently and from the past can be in attendance and make it a special evening..

After 65 years of sitting at the heart of the town, the club has shown a true endeavour, as have the characters that have lovingly built it. After 65 years we can now celebrate a special night of memories with the club president and reminisce on a journey that began in 1948.

Who knows on the 27th April, 2013, maybe just maybe, that is the day that our present playing squad add their own names to our illustrious history and build the platform to the next stage of the clubs league history.

If they can secure a play off birth that day, it would extend our season by a possible two weeks and give us the chance to reach the Conference National League via the play offs for the first time..

WE ALL LOVE AN UNDERDOG.. ‘COME ON THE WOOD’

Anyone wishing to attend should ring Matthew at the club on 0208 953 5097 for ticket information between the hours of 10:30 and 5:30 Monday to Friday.
