Boreham Wood V Thurrock
Saturday 27th August 2011 Kick off 3.00PM
Meadow Park, Boreham Wood

Thurrock FC visit Boreham Wood this coming Saturday, 27th August for ‘Wood’s’ fifth Blue Square Conference South fixture this season.

Both Boreham Wood and Thurrock have had less than convincing starts to the new campaign, after improving their playing squads significantly over the summer. ‘Wood’ have taken 2 points from a possible 12, whereas Thurrock have taken only 1.

Thurrock come to Boreham Wood off the back of a 4-0 drubbing by Maidenhead United, and would like to clear that from their systems by reversing that score line against ‘The Wood’ this Saturday; so an open and exciting game is in store! However, in the corresponding fixture last season the points were shared, with an end-to-end 2-2 draw being played out on a wet afternoon.

Many new faces have arrived at Thurrock over the summer break. Notably ex-Wood striker Jamie Richards, F.A. trophy winner Lee Boylan, as well as Paul Terry (brother to England and Chelsea captain John Terry), formerly with a host of Football League sides including Yeovil Town.

Boreham Wood would like to take this opportunity to remind all Parents, Guardians and Students that we still are offering our FREE season tickets to all primary school children in Borehamwood and the local area. If you would like to claim your child’s FREE primary school season ticket, please download our application form off our website, or visit the Community Department at the football club. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call the Community Department on 020 8953 5716.
