Jack Gibbs started at right-back for Northwood against Bracknell Town, as he made his debut for the Bostik League South Central side.

The youngster recently joined Northwood on loan and featured for 64 minutes, although he was unable to help his new side avoid defeat, as they suffered a 2-1 loss away from home.

However, the young defender did nearly score a debut goal, as he shot wide of the far post, following a goal-line scramble.

Gibbs retained his place at right-back in the side for Northwood’s midweek fixture against Bury Town FC.

A brace from James Ewington helped Northwood to a 2-0 victory against Bury, with Gibbs putting in a solid defensive display, to help earn them a clean sheet.

Elsewhere, Bradley Ash made his return to Weston-super-Mare in the Conference South. The club where he originally made his name, prior to his move to Barnsley, and the Wood.

Ash played 90 minutes on his return, but couldn’t help the Seagulls to victory over promotion favourites Hampton & Richmond Borough, suffering a 3-1 defeat.

The 22-year-old was also a starter against Hemel Hempstead, where he featured for 83 minutes. Although, the side again suffered defeat, loosing 2-1 at the Woodspring stadium.

The forward was lively in both performances, seeing efforts well saved on a number of occasions and will continue to benefit from regular football, following a long-term injury last season.
