YMCA Level 3 Diploma in Exercise and Fitness

The YMCA Level 3 Diploma in Exercise and Fitness (Personal Trainer) is intended for learners aged 16 and over and aims to develop the knowledge, skills and practical understanding required to work within the health, fitness and exercise industry. The qualification enables learners to explore areas such as exercise programming, health and wellbeing, client consultation, fitness assessment and personal training, while developing transferable skills including communication, leadership and professional practice to support progression into employment or further study.

The YMCA Level 3 Diploma in Exercise and Fitness (Personal Trainer) is designed as a 1-year, full-time course and provides learners with the skills and industry-recognised knowledge needed to progress into a career as a personal trainer, fitness professional or further training within the sport and exercise sector.

Entry Requirements:

Entry onto this course requires 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), preferably including PE, or a relevant Level 2 qualification. Previous competitive sporting experience is desirable but not essential.
