BTEC Level 2 First Certificate in Sport

The BTEC Level 2 First Certificate in Sport is intended for learners aged 16 and over and aims to develop their knowledge, understanding and practical skills within the sports sector. The qualification enables learners to explore areas such as sport performance, fitness, coaching and the wider sports industry, while developing transferable skills including teamwork, communication and leadership that can support progression into employment or further study.

The BTEC Level 2 First Certificate in Sport is designed as a 1-year, full-time course and provides learners with the skills and knowledge needed to progress onto a Level 3 Sport qualification, apprenticeships or other further training opportunities.

Entry Requirements:

Entry onto this course requires 4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D), preferably including PE, or a relevant Level 1 qualification. Previous competitive sporting experience is desirable but not essential. Learners who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will be required to continue studying and resit these qualifications alongside their main programme of study.
