PLAYER PROFILE:

A former Birmingham City youth graduate, Cooper has experience in the National League, having helped Forest Green to promotion in the 2016/17 campaign. Cooper was a part of the squad who beat Tranmere Rovers in the National League Play Off Final, to reach the Football League for the first time in their history. The now 21-year-old then provided the assist for the Rovers’ first ever goal in the Football League, scored by Christian Doidge. Cooper followed this up with his first senior goal on August 19, which helped Forest Green to their first ever Football League win, beating Yeovil Town 4-3.

A knee injury curtailed his progress with the Football League outfit, before he left to join Newport County on a short-term loan. Cooper would go on to cement his place in the team and make 15 appearances for the fellow League Two side.
