Boreham Wood under 18s claimed the Southern Counties Floodlit League title with five matches to spare, sealing a 4-3 win over a stubborn Amersham outfit.

The honour follows a season of dominance in the division, with the young Wood winning every match so far.

Iliman Ndiaye put the young Wood in-front early on, when the midfielder cut inside onto his right foot and curled a sweetly hit strike into the top corner.

The continually impressive Alex Morgan made it three in under 15 minutes. The forward had gone through on goal and lobbed the ball above the Amersham stopper.
However, Amersham pulled one back following a poor defensive header from the Wood back line, and a powerful finish from their forward. The hosts tucked home their second of the evening shortly after, closing the gap to just one goal.
Ndiaye restored the young Wood’s a two goal lead, directing a strong header home.
Despite a late third goal from Amersham, Cameron Mawer’s side went on to secure the win and keep their winning streak going in the league.
