Boreham Wood Football Club are absolutely delighted to announce the capture of the experienced, highly rated and sought after Braintree Town captain Kenny Davis.

Davis who has played over 200 games for the Iron, joins the Wood after narrowly seeing his side miss out on a trip to Wembley when losing out to eventual play off winners Grimsby Town 2-1 in extra time of their semi final second leg..

As a natural born leader, Davis has been instrumental in Braintree establishing themselves at this level and his performances this season from midfield have again been colossal, whilst chipping in with some important goals, that saw Braintree achieve a best ever finish of 3rd in the National League.

Prior to joining Braintree, Davis spent three seasons with Grays Athletic, before Alan Devonshire the then Braintree manager persuaded Kenny to join him at Cressing Road.

On the clubs latest capture Wood gaffer Luke Garrard said “Kenny really is a fantastic signing for me and the club. The Chairman has obviously backed me on this and I’m really excited for our supporters and the town, as we’re trying to achieve something nobody thought possible just a few short years ago.. At 28, Kenny’s best years are still very much ahead of him and I’m pleased that after he saw our set up, our pitch, our training facilities and listened to our plans for next season, that Kenny was keen to come onboard and get involved with us”. Garrard concluded.
