WOOD TO PLAY PREMIER LEAGUE NEW BOYS READING

23 July 2012

Boreham Wood v Reading XI
Tuesday 24th July 2012 – Kick off 7.30pm
Pre-season Friendly

This Tuesday evening Boreham Wood will host a Reading XI in their 5th pre-season friendly fixture at Meadow Park, kick off 7.30pm.

This fixture is the result of the new partnership between the clubs, which has seen Reading Football Club team up with Boreham Wood’s renowned PASE (Programme of Academic and Sporting Excellence) Scheme.

Boreham Wood Football Club has recently signed a two year agreement with Premier League Reading Football Club. This exciting partnership has only just been announced, so to read more about this unique new venture click here.

This partnership recognises the hard work and progress at BWFC, headed up by PASE Manager Billy Hunter, Academy Director Luke Garrard and Academy Coach Mario Noto. That has seen our PASE Scheme win National Titles and produce 8 England Internationals at Schools and College level over the last 3 years. We have also progressed boys to play in our First Team at Conference South Level and beyond. One boy, Pelly Ruddock recently signed for West Ham United and across the board we now have PASE graduates at all levels of the Football League, Non-League and in the USA.

‘Wood’ have given solid performances against their impressive line up of pre-season opponents, which has seen us record 1 – 1 draws against West Ham United, Stevenage and Watford, as well as narrowly losing to an Arsenal XI. ‘Wood’ will now step-up their preparations as they look to hit the ground running come August 18th against Eastleigh.
