PREMIER LEAGUE ACADEMY PARTNERSHIP

Boreham Wood Football Club and Reading Football Club are delighted to announce they have agreed a very unique and innovative two year contract. The contract creates not only close ties, but also creates an exclusivity with the Elite of Boreham Wood’s PASE Scheme players and will involve a plethora of other initiatives.

These initiatives will include Boreham Wood’s youngsters preparing Reading’s Under 18 players for FA Youth Cup games. Player Interchange, Website links, Advertising and Minibus endorsements of BWFC’s much acclaimed PASE Scheme and will show a real link from BWFC PASE Scheme to Reading Football Club.

Reading FC’s Assistant Academy Director David Dodds said, “The Reading Academy is hugely impressed with the professionalism of the Boreham Wood FC Youth Scheme. We are excited about entering into a relationship and organisation that is quite simply the best at what they do.”

“The PASE scheme is starting to produce league standard footballers, thanks to a team of excellent coaches and backroom staff. Chairman Danny Hunter insists on high standards – ensuring that his players conduct themselves with the very same values that our youngsters adhere to.”

“We will be looking at several players in their system over the next few months and asking coaches to come down and compare standards.”

Boreham Wood 1st Team manager, Ian Allinson, said “We are producing players who are now interesting so many Southern based Professional Clubs. If I told you the number of Pro Clubs and the calibre of those clubs, who wanted to enter into this partnership you wouldn’t believe me.

“The progress of our PASE Scheme has been staggering, so it’s a fantastic achievement by our Chairman, who has worked hard for so many years, to produce such a progressive Youth structure. “For us to attract a Premiership club like Reading and for them to see the value of this very unique partnership is wonderful for us as a non-league club.”

Boreham Wood PASE Manager Billy Hunter said “Over the last few years, our PASE Scheme and Youth Structure has produced players, who’ve signed for Watford, Notts County and West Ham United amongst others.  We’ve also produced 9 England Schoolboy or College players in the last 3 years. So this two year exclusivity contract with Reading, is an endorsement of our Chairman’s investment in our youth and it endorses the fantastic working relationship that we’ve built up with Reading’s coaching and management staff.” Hunter concluded.

Boreham Wood Academy Director, Luke Garrard, said “As a Club we’ll work tremendously hard to make this Partnership a success. Our Ethos as a Club is to always insist our players show the correct Attitude, Discipline and Desire and as Coaches we will strive to produce players for Reading and ourselves, who will continue to progress at all levels of the game.”
