This week the whole nation have been coming together to show their support for Learning & Disability Week with hundreds of events taking place up and down the United Kingdom.

Boreham Wood Football Club were thrilled to once again host a Mencap Day at Meadow Park on Friday 21st June with five Day Centres attending and participating in a football tournament filled with fun and a bag full of goals and celebrations that would befitting in the Vanarama National League.

In addition to the football fun there was also an aerobics class with music, dance classes, fun fairground games and much more allowing everyone to enjoy their day with a smile on their face. Even the weather was perfect for the event too which saw everyone mingling and integrating whilst enjoying the warm sunshine.

There was a fantastic turnout with over 70 participants attending the Mencap Day on the club’s 4G as we continue our hard and passionate work with local Borehamwood Day Centres and the community.

We would like to pass on our thanks to the Village Hotels staff who helped out along with the volunteers, we couldn’t do it without you.

Academy Manager Cameron Mawer said: “It was brilliant to see so many turn up to the event and thoroughly enjoy all the activities on offer. As a community club, we are all proud to give something back to the local centres.”

We hope everyone that attended enjoyed their day and we would love to see you back down at Meadow Park for another event or maybe to support our first-team.
