Boreham Wood FC can announce that Vic Akers OBE, who recently turned 74-years-young on Monday (Happy Birthday, Victor!) has decided to step down from his post as Assistant Manager to Luke Garrard.

Vic came to the Club at a time when Luke and the first team were struggling somewhat on the pitch and helped us to narrowly avoid relegation during the 2018/19 season, when we eventually finished just a single place above the relegation zone.

Vic leaves the Club in great spirits and in a much better position, having played his part in getting us into the play-offs last season and just missing out on another promotion final at Wembley.

The Arsenal Legend and longtime friend of the Chairman steps down with the best wishes and thanks from everyone he came into contact with during his time at Meadow Park. We’re sure we’ll see him back at Meadow Park taking in a game or two in the near future, while still doing bits and pieces for Luke.

Thank you, Vic!
