FA Youth Cup

Cameron Mawers Under 18’s bowed out of the FA Youth cup in the second round after a 2-1 defeat to Broxbourne Borough.

Broxbourne took a first half lead after Wood were unable to clear their lines. Alie Bangura tapped into a empty net for the visitors.

Wood responded well, and after the break found themselves level. Alex Morgan put a delightful ball across goal and the defender could only steer the ball into his own net.

Wood looked in control despite not being at their best, but it was Broxbourne who got the all important second goal. A Alie Bangura shot from the edge of the box took a slight deflection and slipped through the hands of Terrell Annakie to restore the visitors lead.

Wood huffed and puffed to get back into the game but it wasn’t to be and so Broxbourne progress to play Chester in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.
