Wood will go in search of their first ever competitive victory over a Football League side in the First Round proper of the FA Cup, this coming Sunday.

They face the oldest club in the Football League in Notts County, who stand between a Wood victory and a place in the Second Round of the most famous domestic Cup competition in the world.

In previous years the Wood have come unstuck against Southend, Swindon, Luton Town, Brentford, Carlisle, Blackpool and Torquay at this stage of the competition, and will be looking to go one better this time around.

Notts County are coming to Meadow Park in confident mood, as they sit comfortably in the League two play offs places, having made a very positive start to the season. They picked up a point against a strong Luton Town side, on Saturday although John Sheridan told their official website he was disappointed his side didn’t pick up the three points, after they missed a late penalty.

County manager John Sheridan has a wealth of experience in his squad, with the likes of Alan Smith and Jon Stead both having premier league experience. Though unfortunately for County, Jon Stead their top scorer has turned his ankle and will miss the game through injury.

On the other hand Wood Gaffer Luke Garrard, should have back this Sunday, our top scorer Morgan Ferrier and club captain Joe Devera. Both missed our win over Woking last Saturday. With big defender Dave Stephens also back in full training after a lengthy layoff, the Wood squad is probably at its strongest since the opening day, as we head into November.

The clubs needs its TOWNS support so please do come out in your numbers, bring a friend, family or work colleagues and lets give the players the support they deserve.
