Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce that we will be raising funds for Elstree and Borehamwood Dementia Club during a charity bag pack at Tesco.

The charity bag packing will take place during Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, December 20-22, and Boreham Wood FC would like to once again thank Tesco for their continued support and collaboration with us.

The Boreham Wood first team and staff, as well as the Club’s PASE Academy, will all be down at Tesco to help the community during this busy Christmas period.

While there, we will be raising funds for local charities, including the Elstree and Borehamwood Dementia Club.

As a community Football Club, we believe in inclusion for all and see our annual bag pack, as a fantastic opportunity to engage the whole of Borehamwood.

With players and staff from First Team to Academy level all involved, the bag packing is expected to be an enjoyable, and helpful, event in the community.

The Town Dementia Support group was formed in 2016, the original committee Town Councillors Sandra Parnell, Eric Silver and Pat Strack with Sasha Capocci and Dr Ann Goddard.

They launched in July 2017 with Dementia Club UK and will now be running their own Elstree and Borehamwood Dementia Club.

The Club is supported by Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, Tesco and Rotary.

Town Mayor Eric Silver has chosen to support the Club during his Mayoral Year. Rotary President Sasha Capocci raises funds for the Club as part of her Rotary commitment.

The Club meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 2-4pm at Fairway Hall.

The Club volunteers welcome those families living with dementia as well as those isolated in the community.

They provide an afternoon of entertainment and socialisation, including exercises, dancing, singing, quizzes and speakers.  Tea and cakes are served.
