STUDENTS RAISE MONEY FOR BBC CHILDREN IN NEED

Students from Barnet & Southgate College and the Boreham Wood FC PASE Academy, held an eight-aside football competition on Friday, November 16, with the aim of supporting BBC Children in Need.

The football tournament involved five teams of eight players, helping the event organisers raise £90. The students also raised an additional £15 from cake sales!

The atmosphere on the day of the event was filled with buoyancy; with many of the students relishing the opportunity to play against their classmates and especially their teachers!

Matches were strongly fought with all the teams showing the ADD factor: Attitude, Discipline, and Desire.

The final couldn’t be decided in normal time and was taken to penalties, with both teams taking five penalties each. With the scores still level, they decided in the spirit of ‘Children in Need’ to share the glory. The decision now will be how to share the converted prize of eight breakfast meals, as sponsored by Jenny’s Café.

Ultimately, the college and club believe that everyone who organised and participated in the event were the winners, as this tournament was for a charitable cause, BBC Children in Need.

This event also assists the students to pass their BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport Module ‘Organising a Sporting Event.’
