Following consultation with our friends at Hitchin Town FC, our Clubs can confirm that our pre-season friendly fixture originally scheduled for Tuesday 19th July has been pushed back by a day to Wednesday 20th July due to extreme weather conditions, with the kick off remaining at 7.30pm.
With the UK experiencing a heatwave this week and next, temperatures for Tuesday are forecasted to reach up to a blistering 36 degrees, whereas although still hot, Wednesday’s peak temperature reaches 26 degrees, though there is a 30-50% chance of rain in the afternoon, too.
With this information available, the Clubs considered the most sensible decision was to move the fixture to a day later with the welfare of the players, management, staff and supporters in mind.
