Match preview: Woking (A)

6 February 2026

Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side will be looking to end a four-game losing run when we head to play-off chasing Woking, kicking-off at 15:00.

Last season for the Cardinals

After finishing in fourth place in the 2022/23 campaign, Woking have had two disappointing seasons, the latter seeing them finish in 15th place.

A change of management partway through last season from Michael Doyle to former Solihull Moors and York City boss Neil Ardley ensured the Cardinals retained their National League status for another season.

One to watch

An electric winger who has caused nightmares for Enterprise National League defenders this term, Josh Osude will be a key figure helping the Cardinals in their pursuit of the play-offs.

Signing from Hashtag United in March of last year, the 26-year-old has worked his way through the Essex non-league ranks with several sides including Braintree Town, Tilbury and Witham Town and his impressive performances with the Tags earnt him his move to step one.

The Wood

We made the trip up to Greater Manchester on Tuesday night to face table-topping Rochdale and a 4-1 defeat followed. Devante Rodney opened the scoring with six minutes on the clock before Emmanuel Dieseruvwe netted a brace to give the Dale a three-goal cushion.

Zak Brunt pulled one back from the spot on 71 minutes but Ian Henderson made sure of the victory with his strike 15 minutes from time.

Previous meetings

The reverse meeting with the Cardinals came back at the end of September and the Wood prevailed with a 1-0 victory thanks to a first-half Matt Rush strike.
