Match preview: Wealdstone (H)

2 April 2026

Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side host an in-form Wealdstone side who will be competing in the Isuzu FA Trophy final next month, with kick-off at 15:00.

Last season for the Stones

Wealdstone managed to defy the odds for another season and retain their Enterprise National League status on the final day. Following a tough campaign, results on the final day went in their favour while the Stones secured a 3-1 victory over FC Halifax Town.

They also had a memorable Emirates FA Cup campaign which saw them cause an upset at Sky Bet League Two side Grimsby Town with a 1-0 win before falling to a 2-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers in the second round.

One to watch

A towering defender with a wealth of experience at this level at a young age, Deon Woodman has played a pivotal role for the Stones this term. Having had several loan spells away from Queens Park Rangers at the likes of Southend United and St Albans City, the 23-year-old has made 35 Enterprise National League appearances so far in Ruislip.

The Wood

This week marked the Wood’s first without midweek action since January, providing Garrard with a valuable opportunity to spend extended time on the training ground ahead of the final five league fixtures of the campaign.

Our last clash came in the form of our furthest away trip of the season as we headed down to Truro City and the spoils were shared in a goalless draw, a game of few chances and windy conditions for both sides. This point at the Truro Sports Hub ensured we extended our unbeaten run to four games in all competitions.

Previous meetings

We made the trip to our local rivals on Boxing Day and a convincing 4-0 victory ensued. It was an electrifying start as Abdul Abdulmalik broke the deadlock inside two minutes with a chipped finish before Matt Rush extended our lead 26 minutes later.

Our dominance continued into the second half as Lewis Richardson calmly slotted home seven minutes into the 45 before the 23-year-old secured his brace and our fourth with eight minutes remaining.
