Match preview: Truro City (A)

27 March 2026

Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s travel to Truro City, our furthest away trip of the season, with kick-off at 15:00.

Last season for the Tinners

It was a season to remember for John Askey’s side as they secured promotion to the Enterprise National League, becoming the first club from Cornwall to play in the top tier of non-league football.

With six teams in with a chance of clinching the National League South title on the final day, the Tinners’ 5-2 victory over St Albans City ensured they finished top of the pile on goal difference.

One to watch

Former Plymouth Argyle forward Luke Jephcott has been a key figure for the Tinners after gaining a wealth of experience in the Football League. Having signed for John Askey’s side on a permanent basis in the summer after a successful loan stint, the former Wales U21 international is the Tinners’ joint-top scorer in the league so far this campaign after netting on five occasions.

The Wood

Our fine form continued on Tuesday night as we made the trip to Aldershot Town, aiming to make it two league wins on the bounce. Matt Rush broke the deadlock inside three minutes before Regan Booty netted a sensational strike from just inside the Shots’ half to give the Wood a two-goal cushion.

Aldershot Town’s Brody Peart fired past Ted Curd to narrow our lead with 22 minutes on the clock, but Luke Garrard’s men held firm to ensure we came away with a 2-1 win and headed back to Hertfordshire with another big three points.

Previous meetings

We have already met the Tinners on two occasions this season with the first clash coming in August. Tom White gave us lift off with a fine strike on 27 minutes before Will Dean drew the visitors level seven minutes later. However, Matt Rush had the final say with his goal three minutes into second half injury time, seeing us come away with a 2-1 win.

The Tinners also visited the Mangata Developments Stadium in last month’s National League Cup semi-final which saw late strikes from Booty and Rush ensure we progressed with a 2-0 victory.
