Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side will be looking to take a step closer towards the knockout stages of the National League Cup with the visit of Leicester City U21, kicking off at 19:45.
Currently plying their trade in Premier League 2, the Foxes finished in tenth place last term and they are carrying on this form into this campaign as they are currently in tenth.
A promising striking option for Leicester, former Chelsea and Arsenal youth man Amani Richards could be key in the Foxes getting a result on Tuesday night. The former England U16 international had a loan stint at Exeter City of Sky Bet League One last season and was named as the U18’s Player of the Season in 2022/23.
It was an away day to remember on Saturday as the Wood ran out as 3-0 victors at Gateshead to return to winning ways. Zak Brunt broke the deadlock from the spot on five minutes and although Joe Newton was dismissed with ten minutes left of the first-half, Brunt doubled the advantage with 75 minutes on the clock.
Regan Booty, who was making his debut following his loan signing from Barrow, added the cherry on top of the cake in the fourth minute of additional time with a stunning strike from the halfway line.
