Match preview: Eastleigh (H)

16 October 2025

Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side return to Enterprise National League action with the visit of an in-form Eastleigh outfit, kicking-off at 15:00.

Last season for the Spitfires

It was back-to-back 13th-placed finishes for the Hampshire-based side in the past two seasons, finishing nine points off of Southend United in the final play-off place last term.

One to watch

Making a promising start to life at the Silverlake Stadium, Aaron Blair has netted six league goals so far this term in 13 appearances. The 25-year-old forward put pen to paper on a deal for this season in the summer following an impressive stint at Maidstone United where he played a pivotal role in the Stones making it to the National League South Promotion Final last season.

The Wood

It was another superb showing last time out as we progressed to the first round of the Emirates FA Cup after a 3-0 win at Eastbourne Borough. Following an even first-half, the Wood’s class shone through thanks to strikes from Matt Rush, Abdul Abdulmalik and Junior Dixon in the second-half.

This followed another 3-0 victory on our travels, beating Yeovil Town in the league to maintain our place in the play-offs and be within two points of leaders Forest Green Rovers.

Last time we met

Saturday will be our first clash with the Spitfires in nearly two years. We faced off in Hertfordshire in January 2024 and a thrilling 4-4 draw ensued with Erico Sousa netting a last-gasp penalty to secure a late point.

The reverse league meeting in the 2023/24 campaign saw Paul McCallum score a brace to seal a 2-1 win with Tyrone Marsh’s leveller proving to count for nothing.
