Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side can make it back-to-back wins after Tuesday’s last-gasp victory over Yeovil Town with a trip to Hampshire to lock horns with Eastleigh, kicking-off at 15:00.
It was back-to-back 13th-placed finishes for the Hampshire-based side in the past two seasons, finishing nine points off of Southend United in the final play-off place last term.
Making a promising start to life at the Silverlake Stadium, Aaron Blair has netted 11 league goals so far this term in 25 appearances. The 25-year-old forward put pen to paper on a deal for this season in the summer following an impressive stint at Maidstone United where he played a pivotal role in the Stones making it to the National League South Promotion Final last season.
After Saturday’s trip to Woking was postponed, we bounced back from a disappointing run of form as we hosted Yeovil. Jacob Wannell opened the scoring on 27 minutes before Zak Brunt drew level five minutes later and the in-form attacking midfielder put us ahead seven minutes into the second-half.
Yeovil showed spirit to get back into this one though as James Daly equalised despite Kyle Ferguson being dismissed but it was Aaron Henry who was the hero with a stunning free-kick two minutes into additional time to secure a much-needed 3-2 win.
We welcomed Eastleigh to the Mangata Developments Stadium Meadow Park in October and a 2-0 win followed. Abdul Abdulmalik opened the scoring with a fine solo effort early in the second-half before Lewis Richardson wrapped up the points nine minutes from time.
