Match preview: Brackley Town (H)

6 March 2026

Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side are at home for the second time in five days as we look to build on the win over table-topping York City as we face Brackley Town, with kick-off at 12:30.

Last season for the Saints

It was a historic campaign for the Northamptonshire-based outfit as they secured promotion to the Enterprise National League for the first time in their history as champions. After losing out in the play-offs in three of the past five seasons, Brackley finished top of the table with 92 points on the board to secure a long-awaited promotion to non-league’s top tier.

One to watch

An attacking midfielder who has risen up the non-league ranks, Scott Pollock is a pivotal part of Brackley’s creative presence. After spells with Hashtag United and then Northampton Town, the 24-year-old spent time in the National League with Boston United and Yeovil Town before making the switch to the Saints in the summer, making 26 league appearances thus far.

The Wood

It was a night to remember in WD6 last time out as we hosted York City in a vital promotion clash and prevailed with a 3-2 win. Ollie Pearce continued his superb goal-scoring run six minutes in to put the visitors ahead before a second-half comeback with goals coming from Lewis Richardson, Cameron Coxe and Charlie O’Connell ensured the Wood secured a massive win against fellow promotion hopefuls.

Previous meetings

We have already locked horns with the Saints on three occasions this term, with the latest coming in a dominant 5-2 victory in the quarter-finals of the National League Cup. Matt Rush got the ball rolling with just three minutes on the clock before he doubled the lead 15 minutes later.

Strikes from Femi Ilesanmi and Charles Clayden gave the Wood a commanding four-goal cushion before Brackley restored parity courtsey of goals from Connor Hall and Morgan Roberts. Cameron Coxe however ensured we booked our place in the semi-finals with his composed strike four minutes into additional time.
