Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side will be looking to follow-up Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Aldershot Town as we head to Brackley Town, kicking-off at 15:00.
It was a historic campaign for the Northamptonshire-based outfit as they secured promotion to the Enterprise National League for the first time in their history as champions. After losing out in the play-offs in three of the past five seasons, Brackley finished top of the table with 92 points on the board to secure a long-awaited promotion to non-league’s top tier.
A proven striker in the National League North who is now plying his trade with the Saints, Danny Waldron will be looking to ensure Brackley maintain their National League status. The 29-year-old netted 16 goals in 25 league appearances during the first half of the 2023/24 season which earned him a move to Southend United before featuring for Tamworth towards the end of last term.
It has been a successful week for the Wood thus far after overcoming Crawley Town of Sky Bet League Two with a dominant 3-0 win in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup.
In our return to league action on Tuesday evening, Abdul Abdulmalik’s stunning first-half goal proved to be the difference to seal a 1-0 victory over Aldershot .
