Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side will be looking to extend the nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions as we make the trip to Lincolnshire to lock horns with Boston United, kicking off at 15:00.
Following a slow start to the season with promotion from the National League North, the appointment of former Newport County boss Graham Coughlan proved to be a pivotal turning point in their season.
They finished in 19th place and three points outside of the relegation zone after looking destined for the drop, helped by a six-game unbeaten run in March which ensured they would retain their National League status.
Having impressed in a struggling Welling United side last term, Rhys Lovett caught the eyes of Saturday’s hosts who he signed for in the summer and has asserted himself as their first-choice ‘keeper. The 28-year-old has appeared in all of Boston’s games this season and will play a key role in their aim of survival.
A brilliant start to our return to the National League continued last time out as Altrincham made the trip down to Hertfordshire. An electric first-half showing saw the Wood take a three-goal lead thanks to an Erico Sousa brace and a Zak Brunt penalty with Jimmy Knowles’ strike only proving to be a consolation in a 3-1 victory.
That win put us at the top of the form guide following another impressive home triumph in our previous encounter, a 3-0 victory over Morecambe.
