PREVIEW

Tomorrow, we travel up north to Greater Manchester to take on Altrincham FC in the Vanarama National League, the Wood will be looking to bounce back after a 2-1 defeat at home to Solihull Moors. Altrincham are one of six teams who remain unbeaten this year, after earning a point on Tuesday against York City.

Altrincham are a team that enjoy moving the ball, they also had an impressive summer of recruiting bringing in the dangerous Chris Conn-Clarke permanently who is the main threat for the Robins.

They have also welcome backed Matthew Kosylo who suffered a knee injury that kept the winger side lined the whole season. However he is now back in the action after scoring two goals, one against York and the other against Woking.

FORM GUIDE

Boreham Wood- D-W-L
The Wood made the long trip up to Gateshead on opening day and after an uninspiring first half which saw the Wood go into the break 2-0 down, they came out in the second half and looked much better and managed to secure a last minute equaliser and leave the Northeast with a well-earned point.

FC Halifax Town then came to the Mangata Pay UK Stadium Meadow Park for GW2 as the Wood looked to continue their second half form from Gateshead. Second half goals from Kwesi Appiah and Jamal Fyfield ensured a comfortable 2-0 win. Wednesday was disappointing for the Wood after they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at home to Solihull Moors

Altrincham – D-W-D

Opening day, the Robins welcomed Dagenham & Redbridge to J Davidson Stadium, Chris Conn-Clark opened the scoring for the home side, but it was late heartbreak for Altrincham when Harry Phipps scored a 98th minute equaliser to bring score to 1-1. Altrincham then travelled to Woking and thanks to Regan Linney brace the away side picked up a 3-2 win against a strong Woking side.

On Tuesday, another tough test was in store for the Robins as they travelled to York City who have add a busy summer of recruiting. Altrincham trailed twice in the game however answered back on two occasions with goals from Conn-Clarke and Kosylo ensuring a 2-2 draw and an unbeaten start to the Vanarama National League season.

HAVEN’T WE MET BEFORE?

Last season the Wood travelled to Altrincham searching for our first in 7 games. However a goal in each half from defenders Will Evans and Femi Ilesanmi was enough for Boreham Wood to secure and bring home all three points.
