Boreham Wood Football Club can confirm that tickets are now on sale for our upcoming Emirates FA Cup First Round Proper tie at home to League One side Wigan Athletic. The date for this fixture has not been confirmed, as the TV selections are yet to be announced.
If we want to continue our recent run of causing cup upsets, then we’re going to need a noisy crowd, we’ll need to create an intimidating atmosphere and if we get that coupled with our normal underdog mentality, hopefully, that will put us on our way to once again overcoming league opposition.
Memories and moments etched in our history; it’s our chance to dream again. Mark Ricketts’ winner that stunned Championship high-flyers Bournemouth and walking out to Z-Cars to face Everton at Goodison Park to name a few. And how about that Lewis Richardson goal to get us here? A moment worthy of winning any game of football and capturing the essence of ‘the magic of the FA Cup’. Those are the moments that stay with us, that can change the landscape of a club. Now, we have the chance to create that magic all over again – together!
To do that we are going to need the Wood Army, we are going to need our drummer and the North Bank, we are going to need the noise, our town and our wider community. We are asking you all to get together, come out in force and let Wigan Athletic know this is our house.
Let’s fill the rafters, pack Meadow Park and bring the whole community together as we walk out with the chance to make FA Cup history. Be there as we face former FA Cup winners, Wigan Athletic.
Give the players an atmosphere to inspire a giant-killers story. Bring the noise, raise the roof and let’s make history in WD6!
