Boreham Wood Football Club are thrilled to announce the signing of defender Tylor Golden, who joins the Wood on a permanent basis following his departure from fellow Enterprise National League side Altrincham. The 26-year-old arrives at Meadow Park with a wealth of Football League and National League experience, adding pace, athleticism and versatility to Luke Garrard’s squad.
Born in Ipswich, Golden spent part of his childhood in the United States before returning to England and developing through the academies of Ipswich Town, Manchester City, Rochdale and Blackburn Rovers. He eventually joined Wigan Athletic in 2014, progressing through the club’s academy before making his first-team debut in the EFL Trophy during the 2017/18 campaign and signing his first professional contract later that season.
Following loan spells with Droylsden and Nantwich Town, Golden made the move to Salford City, where he made his Football League debut in League Two and earned praise for a composed defensive display in a clean-sheet performance against Forest Green Rovers.
After gaining further senior experience on loan with Notts County, Golden joined FC Halifax Town in 2022 before later making the switch to fellow National League side Altrincham. Comfortable operating anywhere across the back line, Golden has built a reputation as an energetic, attack-minded defender who combines physicality with a tireless work rate and a strong defensive mentality.
We are delighted to welcome Tylor to the Wood and look forward to seeing him pull on our black and white at the Mangata Developments Stadium Meadow Park.
