Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce the loan signing of 21 year old Southend United striker, Jason Williams.

The quick and powerful striker came through the Southend academy, making his professional debut in February 2014 against Exeter City.

In October 2014 Williams, then joined National League South side, Chelmsford City on a one-month loan deal, which was later extended after some impressive eye catching performances, where he scored five goals in just seven league games.

Williams returned to his parent club but in January 2016, he went back on loan to Chelmsford City, to unite with his academy manager Kevin Maher. who was also caretaker boss of Chelmsford City. Jason’s good form continued and he started where he left off, scoring a further seven goals in just thirteen appearances.

Wood gaffer Luke Garrard said “We’ve tried to get Jason on two previous occasions but it just wasn’t right for Southend or the player at that point. So I’m very grateful that our persistence has finally paid off and I think we’ve got an exciting young player on our hands, who will certainly improve our squad and improve my attacking options.”
