Boreham Wood Football Club are excited to announce that we have once again hired the FA Cup for our supporters.
We will be bringing the famous trophy to our local schools on Tuesday, November 28, thus giving an opportunity for every child to get a photo opportunity with it.
As a community football club, Wood Chairman Danny Hunter wants to ensure that as many people as possible are involved in, what has been, an exciting and historic FA Cup run, which of course is not over just yet.
Having looked after our Sponsors and Hertswood School with the FA Cup in the last round; we decided we needed the FA Cup to come with us on another local whistle stop tour, visiting as many of our local schools in the area as possible, before we finish at Barnet hospital.
With us having drawn an away tie, against former FA Cup winners Coventry City, in the Second Round of the cup, we will again be huge underdogs, and if we are to get a result, then your support on the day is going to be vital.
Please remember the Cup tie with Coventry City, will take place on Sunday, December 3 (2pm k/o) at the Ricoh Arena, and we will need every one of our fans up there, to hopefully cheer the lads on, to what would be the biggest Cup upset in our 70-year history!
Luke Garrard and his men have already made Club history and the town proud in the previous round, when they came from behind to knock out League One giants Blackpool 2-1, with a late Dan Holman winner.
So, please look at the itinerary below and ensure that your child joins us and the world’s most famous cup, and we’ll be ready to give as many photo opportunities, with our manager and players, to the kids, teachers, parents, patients, nurses and of course the loyal Wood Army – so make sure you don’t miss out!!
Please put the FA Cup date against Coventry City in your diaries, as it’s on Sunday, 3rd December, please support your local team, please give the kids, your family and your friends a proper football underdogs day out, by making sure that you get yourself up to Coventry on the day.
We have already laid on five supporters coaches and we’ll be delighted to lay on even more. But remember you can just as easily get up there by train or by car, as Coventry is less than 90 minutes away.
Your amazing support and belief got us through in the last round against Blackpool, and it’s going to be crucial again that you become the twelfth man as we believe we really can cause the biggest upset on the day and march proudly with every one of you into the 3rd round proper.
We are, remember, little Boreham Wood, but this is our town, this is our club and hopefully this is our time…
