Wood confirm 2024/25 retained list

27 May 2025

Boreham Wood FC can now confirm its retained list, following the conclusion of the 2024/25 Vanarama National League season.

The club says goodbye to five players who depart Meadow Park this summer. They depart with the club’s upmost gratitude and thanks after all playing a part in our successful promotion campaign that helped Wood regain our National League status at the first time of asking. They include David Agbontohoma, Mo Sagaf, Josh Hare and Kwesi Appiah.

However, special recognition and huge thanks must also go to one of Boreham Wood FC’s greatest ever servants Tyrone Marsh who departs Meadow Park with 243 appearances to his name across six seasons and two spells in a Wood shirt, scoring 53 goals.

‘Marshy’ also played an integral role in two National League play-off qualifications, reaching the semi-finals on both occasions. Furthermore, Tyrone and his teammates wrote their names into Boreham Wood FC folklore during the club’s run to the 2021/22 FA Cup fifth round. Featuring in memorable victories over AFC Wimbledon and AFC Bournemouth in the third and fourth rounds respectively to set up a fifth-round visit to Goodison Park to take on five-time FA Cup winners Everton.

Wood Manager Luke Garrard had this to say on Tyrone, “Marshy has been a great player for Boreham Wood, but more importantly an even better human being. Having worked with him for many years, he has brought myself and this Football Club so many memorable moments that will last a lifetime.

“It was really tough having to have the conversation with Tyrone. He is a firm fan’s favourite and everyone at the club is going to miss his infectious personality and smile. He will of course be welcomed back with open arms, and I know he will be keeping an eye on the progression of the club with a fondness, as will I, the club and the Wood Army faithful on the next steps in his career.

“I wish Tyrone all the success in the future and I look forward to seeing him and his young family grow. All the best Marshy, it was a pleasure.” Garrard concluded.
