Wood Accept Ndlovu offer

9 January 2025

With the recent signing of striker, Matt Rush in addition to our other striking options in Kwesi Appiah, Tyrone Marsh, Junior Dixon and Abdul Abdulmalik, the club can confirm that we have accepted a very fair offer for our much-loved striker, Lee Ndlovu who has been allowed to join Barnet on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.

The highly respected 30-year-old’s contract was due to expire at the end of the current season and the forward had made it clear to the club that he would not be signing a new one. As such, the decision to let Lee go was made slightly easier as we look to strengthen the squad and the club’s future.

Ndlovu arrived at Meadow Park in July of 2022 following a very strong season with Brackley Town of the Vanarama National League North, helping them finish second in the division. Since joining us, the powerful number nine has at times terrorised defences across the Vanarama National League and became a mainstay of the Wood attack, racking up 108 appearances in two and a half years, scoring 33 goals and having 11 assists to his name.

Lee had played a crucial role for the club, especially in the 2022/23 season, in which he scored some important goals. These included a fantastic equaliser against Accrington Stanley to earn us an Emirates FA Cup Third Round Proper replay, a brace away at his new Barnet home to secure our place in the Vanarama National League play-off semi-final at Notts County, where he went on to score once again as we went two up before eventually losing 3-2.

Everyone at the club would like to thank Lee for his contribution at Meadow Park over the years and we wish him and his family nothing but success in this next chapter of his career.
