Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Luca Gunter, who joins the Wood on loan from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season. The highly-rated shot-stopper arrives at Meadow Park with experience at both academy and senior level, becoming the first addition to Luke Garrard’s squad.
Gunter began his career with Queens Park Rangers before joining Tottenham Hotspur’s academy, where he has continued to progress through the ranks. The Wood’s new number one has enjoyed considerable success during his time in North London, helping Spurs secure the under 17 and under 18 Premier League Cup double during the 2022/23 campaign before lifting the Premier League 2 title with the club’s under 21 side the following season. His impressive development earned him a professional contract in 2022.
Having featured for the First Team during the Lilywhites’ 2024 pre-season programme, Gunter gained further valuable senior experience during a loan spell with fellow National League side Wealdstone in the second half of the 2024/25 season. An England youth international at every level from under 15 through to under 20, Gunter has already built a reputation as a commanding goalkeeper with excellent reflexes, strong positioning and outstanding shot-stopping ability.
