WELCOME JUNIOR DIXON

1 January 1970

Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce the arrival of exciting forward 19-year old, Junior Dixon from Championship club, Birmingham City on a season long loan.

Our newest recruit, Junior marks our 6th acquisition this summer and is an exciting addition which even further strengthens our attacking line

At Peterborough Utd, O’Connell continued to impress, captaining the u18 and u21 sides before making his debut as a substitute in a 4-1 win against Doncaster Rovers in League One  on the 9th May 2021.

Despite not finding many first team minutes with the Posh, O’Connell has gained invaluable experience with a number of loans. A short loan to Kettering Town back in 2021-22, before joining National League side Woking on three separate occasions during both the 2022-23 season and 2023-24. After his spells at Woking, the young defender had a short spell at Hampton & Richmond before finishing the season at Ross Jenkins’ Oxford City.

Upon his arrival, Ross Jenkins stated that “I’m delighted to have Charlie O’Connell on board, he’s a player who will add quality, versatility and professionalism to the group. I’m very much looking forward to working with Charlie this season and I’m sure he will fit in nicely.”

Welcome to the Mangata Pay UK Stadium Meadow Park, Charlie!
