WELCOME, CHRIS BUSH!

31 December 2022

Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce the arrival of defender Chris Bush to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park on an 18-month contract following his departure from Vanarama National League counterparts Bromley.

30-year-old Bush began his career with Brentford, enjoying loan spells away from Griffin Park with Salisbury City, Woking, AFC Wimbledon and Thurrock, before departing the Bee’s on a permanent basis for a previous loan club AFC Wimbledon ahead of the 2011/12 season.

The next 6-year period saw Bush call 6 different club’s home, plying his trade with AFC Wimbledon, Gateshead, Hereford United, Welling United, Lincoln City and Chelmsford City, making 214 total appearances during that time.

At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, after starting the campaign with Chelmsford City, Bush made the switch to ambitious National League side Ebbsfleet United, playing alongside current Wood players Nathan Ashmore and Jack Payne. However, after 86 appearances in two seasons at Stonebridge Road, Bush signed with Kent rivals Bromley ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Bush spent four seasons at Hayes Lane, reaching the National League play-offs in 2020/21, whilst winning the FA Trophy last season at Wembley in a 1-0 victory over Hollywood owned Wrexham AFC. During his time with the Raven’s, Chris made a total of 138 appearances in a Bromley shirt.

Gaffer Luke Garrard had this to say on capturing Chris’ signature, “Chris is someone who I have always admired. He is very much a player in the mold of myself, as he is very passionate and leaves it all out on the pitch.

“Chris has many qualities and can play in multiple positions and formations. Having played the majority of his career at this level, he also brings a wealth of experience and understanding of the division. Chris will go straight into the squad for Monday’s derby fixture with Barnet at Meadow Park and I really look forward to working with him over the next 18-months.” Garrard concluded.

Chris will wear the number 25 shirt this season.

Welcome to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park, Chris!
