Boreham Wood under 19s progressed through to the last 16 of the ECFA Cup, with a fine home win against favourites SEEVIC.

Wood started sharp with large amounts of possession, with SEEVIC adopting the counter attacking style, Wood had to be patient to find a create space for each other.

Wood soon broke the deadlock from a set piece which Skipper Jordan Lawal delivering with high quality for first year Harvey Scott Morris to volley home from close range.

After the break Wood again dominated possession, but had more of a cutting edge with many opportunities falling to inform striker Simeon Akinola for him not to work the keeper.

Wood soon doubled the lead with some neat footwork from substitute Michael Kusi who got tugged in the penalty area for Simeon Akinola to take the penalty and fire into the roof of the net.

Wood ended victorious with a disciplined 2-0 win which sees them into the last 16 of the nationwide Cup competition.

Manager Luke Garrard said “ I was extremely happy with the second half performance, looked energetic bright and had a real pace that SEEVIC couldn’t deal with, the first half was stale the boys didn’t understand how they set up but as soon as they got to grips with the opposition shape, we started to create and look menacing in front of goal.  We have now played three games and have yet to concede, we will look forward to the draw of the last 16 and look to progress further”
