Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce the signing of winger/forward Dennon Lewis from their National League counterparts Wealdstone for an undisclosed fee. Dennon has signed a deal with the Club until the end of the season, with an option to stay at the LV Bet Stadium Meadow Park for a further year.

Dennon began his career with Hertfordshire neighbours Watford, joining their Academy in 2008 and spending a total of seven years within the youth set up at Vicarage Road before earning his first professional contract with the Hornets in 2015.

Although Dennon spent a further three years at Vicarage Road as a professional, he failed to make a senior appearance with his boyhood Club, though he earned senior professional experience with loans at Woking and Crawley in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Upon his departure from Watford in 2018, Dennon signed a one-year contract with Scottish Championship outfit Falkirk, before a brief spell with Bromley at National League level during the 2018/19 season.

It was Dennon’s next move which thrust him into the spotlight as one of the most exciting attacking prospects outside the Football League when he joined Wealdstone ahead of the 2019/20 season. In a curtailed COVID-19 season, Dennon featured 39 times for the Stones, scoring on 13 occasions, as well as contributing with a double-figured assist tally, as the Middlesex side clinched the National League South title.

However, after two-and-a-quarter seasons at Grosvenor Vale with Wealdstone, Dennon departs the Stones to join high flying Wood, while also linking back up again with former teammates Frankie Raymond (Bromley), Jacob Mendy Mendy (Wealdstone) and Connor Smith (Wealdstone).

Upon securing the services of Dennon Lewis, Wood Manager Luke Garrard commented, “I’m really happy to have completed the signing of Dennon. He is a player we identified as a possible target from the latter stages of last season as he possesses great pace, good quality on the ball and travels with a real intent, which is something we feel will add to what we already have in the building…

“Dennon has already met the group today and was very productive in his first session with the team, which was pleasing to see. He knows what is expected and the demand from myself and the players, but we know he is more than willing and capable to do what’s asked as he is a talented player.

Garrard concluded, “He will go straight in the squad for Saturday and I look forward to working with him and developing his game further now he is back in full time football.”

Dennon will wear the number 15 shirt with the Wood.

Welcome to the LV Bet Stadium Meadow Park, Dennon!
