Boreham Wood Football club are delighted to announce the permanent signing of defender Zaine Francis-Angol after the expiration of his contract with Accrington Stanley.

Francis-Angol started in the Tottenham Hotspur Academy. In 2011 he moved North of the border to sign for Motherwell.

After four seasons with Motherwell making over 60 appearances, Francis-Angol signed with Kidderminster Harriers. Ironically his only goal for the Harriers was against the Wood in 1-1 draw at Aggbrough.

After two seasons with Kidderminster, Dave Challinor signed him for Fylde on a 2 year deal where they made the play-offs in both seasons.

A move to league Two followed with Accrington Stanley, however after the expiration of his contract Garrard snapped up the highly rated left back/winger.

On the signing Gaffer Luke Garrard said “Delighted to have Zaine on board, I feel he will be a great addition to the squad and will give a great balance down the left hand side.

He is a player I have admired especially his time at AFC Fylde where he was involved in Two Play Off campaigns and an FA Trophy Final win. He will bring a great experience to the group and added competition to an already very competitive squad.
I look forward to welcoming him to training tomorrow and getting him adjusted to our way of playing.”
