Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce the arrival of midfielder George Broadbent to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park on a short-term loan from Championship outfit Sheffield United.

George arrived at Bramall Lane in July 2017 after playing in the youth Academy at Manchester United. Since signing for the Blades, George has enjoyed 3 loan spells away from the Bramall Lane, with Curzon Ashton in the National League North in 2020 followed by a period with then-Juliper Pro League outfit Beerschot in 2021, before making 27 appearances for then-League One side Rochdale during the 2021/22 season.

Gaffer Luke Garrard had this to say on capturing George’s signature on short term loan deal, “I am really happy to get George signed. He is someone we have monitored, and we were very pleased to beat off competition for his signature. He will bring much needed competition in a position we are currently light in.

“He’s a very mobile and dynamic midfielder with real technical ability, having just had him for the back end of this week, he has already shown what a very good addition he will be to the changing room.

“He will go straight into the matchday squad for our trip away to Yeovil, and no doubt he will be a positive impact within the group.” Garrard concluded.

George joins up with fellow-Blades loanee Zak Brunt in the centre of the park and will wear the number 8 shirt during his time with the Wood.

Welcome to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park, George!
