Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce the permanent signing of full back Cameron Coxe from Sky Bet League Two’s Colchester United for an undisclosed fee. Cameron has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Club, with an option to stay at the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park for a further year.

Cameron arrived at Meadow Park in October this year on loan from the Essex outfit, scoring on his debut in Wood’s 5-3 Emirates FA Cup victory over Wealdstone and has been ever present in Luke Garrard’s side, starting all 13 matches since landing in South Hertfordshire.

Coxe began his career with Cardiff City, before spending just over a year with Vanarama National League counterparts Solihull Moors between July 2021 and August 2022, making 26 appearances for the Moors.

After spending the beginning of the 2021/22 season on loan at Sky Bet League Two side Colchester United from the West Midlands side, the U’s made Coxe’s move permanent in January 2022. In a similar move which sees Coxe’s loan with the Wood turn into a permanent transfer, he departs the JobServe Stadium with 48 total appearances to his name in a U’s shirt.

Cameron has played for Wales at various youth levels; under 17’s, under 19’s, under 20’s and under 21’s. Impressively representing the Welsh under 21’s on 16 occasions over a five-year period between 2017 and 2022.

Upon capturing Coxe’s signature on a permanent basis, Wood Manager Luke Garrard said, “I’m really pleased to have signed Coxey on a permanent deal. He is at a great age and has the experience of playing at this level and above.

“He has already made a great impression around the Club, both on and off the pitch. He has a fantastic mentality and is clearly driven to succeed, I honestly believe he will have a real positive time with us.

“He now can focus on himself and really start to kick on, and that starts with a big derby game on Monday when we welcome Barnet to Meadow Park.” Garrard concluded.

Welcome to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park, Cameron!
