Boreham Wood Under 18’s 4 – 2 Leighton Town Under 18’s
Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League
Monday 23rd April 2012 – kick off 7.30pm
Boreham Wood Under 18’s deservedly became Champions of the Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League for the 6th straight season.
They dispatched Leighton Town who sat in second place before the game, comfortably winning 4 – 2 with goals coming from Dean Rubenia (2), Steve O’Connor and Robert Hastings.
This title win now gains young Wood entry into the Champion of Champions Cup and also extends their season by at least another 3 games.
BWFC Head PASE coach, Luke Garrard, said “We are worried we may be running out of gas and I just hope we have the energy and depth of squad to add more cups to this title… We also want to win The Brian Hitchings Cup which we are in the final of, the Champion of Champions and for many of this squad they have the National College Cup to retain when we take on Swansea in Wales next week.
Garrard concluded “So although we go there as underdogs we desperately want to bring the National Cup back to Boreham Wood for the 2nd year in a row…”
