Wood Chairman Danny Hunter has this evening sent a thank you message, to our travelling supporters and everyone at the club, through the clubs media and communications manager Grant Morris.

Hunter said “I want all our supporters to know just how proud of them I am and I can’t emphasise that enough. We’d been written off all season, we’d often messed things up and been the masters of our own demise but when I asked the club to really come together, to believe and to unite in the last few weeks, it most certainly did that and it did it in abundance”.

“Our staff and our supporters got in their cars, they got on the coaches, they got on the minibuses and they boarded the trains. They where great at Aldershot, fantastic against Guiseley and turned Welling into a Wood home game (which was a worry especially with our home form) but at the end of the game, to witness our dressing room, our supporters, my staff and our town celebrating together was a magic moment that I’ll never forget”.

“Hopefully we can now finish the season off together on Thursday night, by beating Hitchin Town to lift the Herts Senior Cup again but before then we will start putting the squad together for next season and finalising pre season”.

“So to finish can I say to my manager, my staff, our players and to our supporters and town, thank you, thank you, thank you. You’ve made a little fat man very happy.. I cannot describe to you all how I felt at the final whistle to be the proud Chairman of Boreham Wood Football Club on Saturday. Every problem, every headache, every sleepless night and every extra pound note I’ve spent over the years was worth it.. The journey can I hope continue for our little football club, so thank you all once again for your backing”. Hunter concluded.
