Next up, Staines Town

Wood make the relatively short journey to Wheatsheaf Park to take on Marcus Gayle’s Staines this Bank Holiday Monday.

Staines have had a tough start to the season narrowly losing an entertaining encounter 3-2 away at Chelmsford City, whilst having also lost 4-1 on the road at Sutton United. That result was not helped by the sending off of striker Louie Rae-Beadle in the first half.

The Swans three points came courtesy of an opening day 1-0 win at home to Dorchester Town. A stern reminder that there are no easy games in this League was handed out to Ian Allinson’s men by both Bishops Stortford and Hayes and Yeading United, leaving us with just one point more than our opposition after three games.

Former Wood player Jerel Ifil will feature for the hosts in a game that looks certain to contain goals, with twenty one already having flown in in the two sides first three matches.

Expect Mark Bentley back to shore up the defence for Wood, who will be looking to stifle the attacking threat of Louie Theophanus now in his second spell with the Thamessiders.

Monday August 26th. Staines Town v Boreham Wood kick off 3pm.

Wheatsheaf Park, Wheatsheaf Lane, staines. TW18 2PD.
